This new collection
is much darker than my last and marks the end of a large chapter in my life; as
well as my old way of thinking.
It tells the story of a girl who is haunted by
her past, weighed down by her inner demons; the main one being herself. The story
is set in another world - the world inside the girl’s mind. Through the
clothing she seeks escape.
The colours used are purple, silver, black
and white; all of which embody positivity in one way or another. Purple is used
to signify spiritual protection, power, wisdom and healing. Black dissolves
negative energies and secures ambition. Silver symbolizes stability, removal of
negative powers, victory and repels destruction. White represents cleansing,
healing and purity.
The design lines and
choice of materials used; those being a combination of both soft and harsh,
illustrates the battle between the positive and negative. This, along with the
bondage undertones. Restriction in the harsher designs, allows the girl to
dominate the submissive side of her own self; giving her the strength to
essentially defeat those demons.
